Montana Internet has established a foothold in East Helena and the Helena Valley and is working to expand its coverage area across the city and deeper into Broadwater and Jefferson counties.
Maxx DaSilva, vice president of Montana Internet’s fiber operations, told The Monitor that the Helena-based service provider is focused on communities that have historically lacked reliable online options.
“We’ve completed significant fiber construction and are now serving neighborhoods including Grand Vista Estates, Emerald Ridge, Fox Trot Estates, Fox View Estates, Fox Ridge, Holmberg Village Estates, Red Fox Meadows, and Highland Meadows,” said DaSilva.
Montana Internet’s area network runs down Lincoln Road, into East Helena and along Highway 12/287 toward Townsend, with more than 1,000 locations targeted for future buildout.
The provider offers residential fiber plans starting at $65 per month at speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, with pricing guaranteed for life. Verizon recently expanded its service to Helena and East Helena, offering its 5G Home internet at 300 megabits per second for $35 a month.
Montana Internet continues to expand in the area. “In East Helena, we’ve built out a strong backbone through the community and are actively connecting homes in areas like the Sunny Lane subdivision, with additional expansion planned in Eastgate Village,” said DaSilva.
“All public schools in East Helena are served on Montana Internet’s fiber network with 10-gig connectivity, helping ensure students and staff have access to some of the fastest, most reliable internet available.”
Montana Internet also serves a number of Montana City and Clancy areas, including the South Hills and Bitterroot Meadows, and recently deployed its wireless service, SkyFiber, across much of Lewis & Clark and Jefferson counties to reach more rural areas.
